I visited Christian Tenace, of Direct Plants in Greenvale and asked him to share the 10 plants that are his “winter wonders”.

Getting to The Root of Bare Root Season

July 6, 2016 Chantal Tenace

Bare root season commences in June when deciduous trees are in a dormant state due to the colder weather, and can survive out of the ground for a short period of time. Gardeners successfully establish many thousands of bare rooted plants every year. It can be a very efficient and economical way of planting deciduous trees and shrubs.

Laboratory of Silence - "In every sound sleeps the silence"

Designed by students of the Czech Technical University with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the installation was an interactive display that evoked the atmosphere of a sample of typical Czech forest.  An observer was stopped in silence to observe the surrounding forest installation.

Safeguarding Our Natural Environment... Change starts with each of us

February 4, 2016 Chantal Tenace

When visiting Sardinia last year, I returned to one of my favourite spots, Chia, in the municipality of Domus De Maria. The thing I love most about Chia is the magnificence of its natural environment. Fresh air, an abundance of green life, natural wetlands that are home to flamingos and other wading birds, pristine beaches with crystal clear waters.
